See; now that right there is the real definition of courage. All this hero stuff accorded someone who reacts fortunately and effectively to a sudden momentary stimulus pales by comparison to someone like her.

She is someone who knows how to overcome her challenges---very proactive at writing and supporting children!

I wouldn't judge someone's appearance who has a congenital abnormality. It's not their fault, and I'm sure I can't imagine the challenges they face.

For middle school kids, this book is a great read about someone with facial deformities who has true courage. It's fictional, but it really shows what someone like this might go through in school.
