In reviewing this claim, I could find no reference to it on Google, nor on The Weather Channel, which has steadily been moving away from "business as usual", and drifting toward semi-sensational fluff. It would surely see an advantage in trumpeting such an event, if it could be verified; after three days, it still hasn't.

The Arctic News is just another one-issue blog with an obvious built-in bias and agenda; if the OP is naïve enough to swallow it whole, that's his privilege.

The ops link seems a credible source of information do you have some resource other than your opinion that refutes the links claim

A singular event does not prove anything. Global warming deniers are rightfully criticized when they do the same thing.

It's been warming since the last ice-age, which ended around 12,000 years ago.

Singular event? you need to read more news, as the Earth is under something akin to a global heatwave something scientists are attributing to mans use of 100 million barrels of fossil fuel per day causing abnormal greenhouse gases and thereby causing an abnormal global warming.
Current event publications all seem to be in agreement that its abnormally hot throughout the world,i'm not seeing much if anything refuting this occurrence.

When you walk into a house that is too hot, you turn the furnace's thermostat down, not start counting the amount of CO2 being expelled by all of the residents.

Why, then, do we not look at the furnace (sun) when it comes to the relative temperature of the earth?

('Cause we can't control the sun, but we can try to control all of them rascally CO2 producing humans.)

Just sayin'...

My friend's sister is a geologist, and has an interesting, if depressing theory. You know all that dark blue ice in the glaciers? It contains methane, and I can tell you after visiting Alaska, that the glaciers are melting like crazy.

Anyway, her theory is that earth used to have an atmosphere primarily made up of methane, and that dinosaurs were methane breathers. When the ice age hit, it froze the methane, kinda clearing the playing field for oxygen breathing life forms ( mammals in particular )

If she's right, we are all hosed. And she doesn't believe it is because of fossil fuels. She doesn't think there is anything we humans can do about it.

Wait! We are back to “global”warming” again? What happened to climate change? The movement changes its name based on the headline. BTW, couldn’t you find a source more credible than “blogspot”?

My geologist daughter concurs,we have passed the point where we can do anything meaningful about Global Warming, we are going to experience the consequences whether we like it or not or whether we believe the scientists or not..
