Woman killed by lawnmower in Clearfield County

KARTHAUS - Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris reported a Karthaus woman was killed Thursday evening while cutting the grass.

Sandra Maney, a 57-year-old postmaster, was cutting grass on a steep hill at her home when she struck a landscape retaining wall, throwing her from the riding lawnmower. The mower became airborne and landed on Maney, suffocating her, Morris said.

She must have been really moving to make a riding lawnmower go airborne.

Steep hill how steep would one go. I would chalk this one up to driver error. Just because a lawnmower can climb it is up to the person to understand what they are driving.
