Guy was getting a lifetime pension of $65,000 a year (tax free) with full bennies after he won a disability claim but apparently that wasn't enough for him.
They should probably also go after him for the disability payments, as he clearly was not disabled. Also, it's pretty ridiculous what some cops retire on. It's basically like teachers, where everyone envisions them as dead broke and the reality is that a good number of them have pensions that are greater than the average household income. And they get that for life. I get it if they were, for example, injured in the line of duty, but it's not uncommon, for example, for suburban cops to basically go through an entire career without any significant incidents. (You could argue that even a random traffic stop could bring death and you'd be right ...but if it never does and every traffic stop is just a traffic stop of a soccer mom, then I'm not sure that warrants special benefits.) It's even less justifiable with teachers.
