I would think that Facebook would “stop” allowing this type of stupid posting. They own and operate the website so they can set the standards if they want.

We've already seen this occurring when someone looking at their phone walks into a post, people are developing thicker skulls in reaction to multiple head traumas.
You could easily condition yourself into surviving leaps off of bridges and high objects. Start out at a few inches and progressively hurl yourself off greater heights over a period of a few weeks or months.

The picture in the Wikipedia article is at a Japanese train station, yet the English lettering is much bigger than the Japanese. This tells me that American (or maybe British or Australian) tourists are more apt to need to be warned against using selfie sticks than are the Japanese residents of the area.
There's definitely an unflattering comparison to be made between Americans and Japanese here.
