Indiana teacher filmed 'snorting cocaine' in classroom | Daily Mail Online

Quote:
A high school English teacher has been arrested after being filmed snorting what appeared to be cocaine in her classroom.
Samantha Cox, 24, was marched out of Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana, in handcuffs after students showed the video to other staff who called police.
It showed her cutting up a white, powdery substance on a binder then turning her back to the door to lean over it.
WOW, teachers doing drugs in class, teachers having sex with students, what's going on with teachers today???

When I was in HS 20+ years ago we had teachers who had drug/alcohol scandals and teacher/student sex scandals. They didn't take them as seriously as they do now. So the only difference is the media covering them, I think.

Its also parents today, they are a billion times more sheltering/overprotective of their kids today, its nothing like it used to be in that regard.

Nobody is concerned that the student filmed the teacher through the window without her knowledge? Now he's "the good guy"?

Who cares, as long as he's a good teacher.

As mentioned above this is hardly new or unique, just cell phones everywhere now.

Of course they had to mention, 'she was marched out of the school IN HANDCUFFS'...what a medieval society we still live in. I hope the community has some harsh words for the police dept involved in this.

I think he did it because he saw her up to something. It didn't look like he was stalking her. I am really more worried about a teacher, in charge of students, doing coke in school. Its not "ok"

The drug-snorting teacher is definitely a problem that should be removed, but it isn't acceptable to me that students are the school's policemen. For this teacher to line and snort her drugs in the classroom indicates a very serious drug habit. Why has nobody noticed anything strange about her behavior? Surely there had to be signs. Am I right or wrong about this?

Why on earth would it not be right for the student to report (and document) a very serious incident in their school? This isn't just a "bad example" thing, she took a hard drug while around and in the care of teens. What would happen if there was an emergency and her judgement was off?

It is absolutely appropriate for children to report it when adults in charge of their care are being dangerous, reckless or inappropriate.

I bet people did notice the behavior, otherwise it makes no sense for that student to think anything was amiss in the room to pull out his camera and tape.
