I was never big on huge, live concerts like this . I just don’t see the appeal.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...l-Houston.html

“Police investigating a deadly crush that killed eight at a Travis Scott-headlined festival in Houston say a crazed man injected at least one person with opioids during the chaos.

Houston Chief of Police Troy Finner made the shocking claim at a press conference Saturday after hours of rumors about the Astroworld Fest tragedy, after Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner revealed the victims were aged between 14 and 27.”

I don’t know the singer. Apparently he has a history of rowdy concerts.

That type of concert doesn’t appeal to me.

I hate crowds. I find them dehumanizing, the irony of that statement be damned.

Me either. Ugh! But I'm sorry it devolved into a crush like that.

Some people were ripping on Scott for not stopping the concert when this was going on, but apparently he actually did stop at one point.

Unfortunate incident, never been to a concert in my life and never will especially something like that setting.

This was a disaster just waiting to happen.

What made them think this type of arrangement was a good idea?

Sad.

Friends and family can’t understand why I don’t go to concerts. This unfortunate incident isn’t the reason. I just don’t see the appeal either. I’d rather download (or buy) songs and listen when and where I want.

He did. They showed it on the news. He stopped the concert more than once to point and yell out that a person needed medical attention, but that was before the major surge that killed people. It was so crowded that people were unable to get their breath, and some of them fainted.

They even said tall people were faring better than short people because they were able to gasp in some air.

Too many reckless young people were storming the stage and near the entrances. It was a chaotic scene, you gotta blame bad parenting here. A complete disregard for other people but themselves. The scary thing is that so many people were rushing through like a huge stampede trying to get close to the stage when they are not supposed to. Fortunately more people didn't die from this kind of out of control scene.

Proof that our society can't be civilized anymore.

Crowds are terrifying. I've been caught up twice in my life, in crowds that were crushing so hard I couldn't move or control which way I went, and I don't ever want to be in one like that again.

And it's not like people usually intend it to happen - those at the back just don't know what's going on in the front.
