Apparently the harness wasn't secured properly, and that can be seen on video.

He suffered a head injury and several broken bones that required a hospital stay.

His mom is suing for $15,000.

Um, why in the world didn't the facility write her that check yesterday?

$15,000 seems a very low figure. Was there no adult supervision on checking the harness?

There were at least two employees who were responsible for overseeing strapping on the gear.

Both (or how ever many there were) are no longer with the company, according to the article.

I agree, 15K is really, really low and they should pay it before the mom realizes she's not asking for enough.

In 2009, my (then) 6-year old son & I almost fell off this Skyride when the lap bar did not secure properly.

Florida boy falls from zipline-cheyenne-mountain-zoo.jpg

He's autistic & flaps his hands a lot when he gets excited. We rode up to the top off the mountain just fine & got off, walked around for a few & then got back on for the ride down. He started flapping & his thumb hit underneath the bar & it sailed right up over our heads. I had to reach up with one hand to feel for the bar with my other arm bracing him so he wouldn't rock the seat & dump us out.

$15,000 isn't nearly enough. I'm hoping that was a misprint.

That is low, my only guess is that all medical related expenses are paid as well.

My guess is the reporter left off three zeros from the end of that number.

If that is true, $15,000 wouldn't even touch the pain and suffering involved.

My guess is that no lawyer is involved or the amount demanded would be at least twenty times that much.
