She would have been 105 in about two weeks. I loved many of her books as a child, and I recall reading in her autobiography that she remembered hearing the town church bells ring for the ending of World War One. What a wonderful, long life.
The baby boom kids grew up on her books, and then every generation since then. So much reading pleasure she gave, to so many children, over the past 70 years! And the funny thing was, my kids liked them, even though her oldest books were 50 yrs old by the time my kids read them.
