Mt Bike new shift cable. I'm getting some binding in 1 x 1, 2 and 3. Typically do you run the set screw all the way in and back it out or the other way around after barrel adjustment?

Maybe you can teach the local wrenches cause they don't seem to get it. How much do you have to cinch the cable to get it to jam into the spokes.

The stops should prevent it from doing that, and cable stretch doesn't affect them. So step one would be make sure the stops are adjusted correctly.
