I just moved here and need to buy a new living room and bedroom suite. I love Z Gallery style, but nothing in there now is catching my interest. I don't like super contemporary...more like modern, simple, clean, comfortable, neutral tones. Thanks for your suggestions...

There's Restoration Hardware on Knox just down the street from Z Gallerie.

What about Cantoni? They're fairly modern but they might have some classic mid century modern stuff as well.

I like Cantoni--althought it is not my style--there used to be Scandanavian furniture store in Arlington that carried the kind of pieces the OP is referring to
don't know if there could be similar ones in Dallas
and you might consider Ebay or Craigs list--sometimes you get lucky there

Modern furniture in Dallas is a challenge. It depends on your pocketbook. Design Within Reach and Herman Miller both have showrooms in Dallas as do Linge Roset and Natuzzie. On the other end of the price range there is Ikea. I ordered most of my furniture from the net.
