Hi,

My family is relocating to the north DFW area within a month. My job location will be in the new Cypress Waters corporate development area (Hackberry Road at Ranch Trail, Irving TX). We are looking for GREAT elementary schools. Initially, I don't want to be too far from work. Coppell & Flowermound seem to have some good elementary school options dependent on location. Any recommendations on apartment / townhome complexes (need names) that feed into great elementary schools? Looking for a 3 bedroom with garage under $2k ideally. Thank You!

Well, Cypress Waters itself feeds into Coppell ISD, so you could start there. Not sure how much their townhomes are, but they are nice. As long as you are in Coppell ISD, LISD feeding to Flower Mound Schools, or Grapevine ISD (another area to consider), you should be fine. Keep in mind that school district boundaries don't necessarily follow city boundaries.

For the price of a 3 bedroom apartment, you should really just look into single family homes. You can get a 3/2 in any of these cities for $2K. A single family home in Coppell itself would give you an excellent commute and fantastic schools.

.
Not sure they will find a 3 bedroom in Cypress Waters. part of the Coppell ISD Lawsuit was to limit most of that area to 1 bedroom apartments.

There are actually very few apartments in these school districts. It's a way to keep the schools performance high.
Might be some in the 75063 Valley Ranch area. Just make sure you are on the Coppell ISD side.

OP might be some in the LaVillita area. La Villita and Hackberry Elementaries are in the Carrollton ISD but both exemplary.

Look for privately owned condos in Valley Ranch for rent. You may find something. Look in zip code 75063 on the west side of MacArthur Blvd. look on Zillow: Real Estate, Apartments, Mortgages & Home Values or www.padmapper.com

Here's on in The Casita's -- which is a great villa complex in Coppell Schools.

Thanks... Cypress Waters is a bit pricey for the budget. I'll be looking into single family homes too but figured a complex with amenities would be an easier transition for the family.

What's the deal with washer/dryers not being available is a lot of rentals. Is this the norm?

Likely they all have just a washer/dryer hookup. You can rent or purchase your own machines.

I don't think that will happen for under $2,000.
