Here is a nice read on the Dallas Market Center. This area should not be confused with the Dallas Design District. Often included in with the Dallas Design District is the Trinity Design (antique) District..

Just to the north of this wholesale business (some shops in the Dallas Design District sell to the public) are five iconic shopping centers all in close proximity to each other and within about a four square mile area. They include Highland Park Village. It has been said that Highland Park Village isn't in competition with any other shopping center in the southwest and that licence plates from twenty-two surround states are often seen frequenting the store. To the north of Highland Park Village at the intersection of Preston and Lovers Lane is Inwood Village. It is well known for hiding upscale luxury brands within its many boutiques.

Just up the road from Inwood Village is Preston Center. Here recently The Plaza at Preston Center shopping center has been receiving some of the over flow luxury stores relocating out from both Northpark Center and Highland Park Village. You might be surprised to find that there are other shopping centers within Preston Center other than the more upscale Plaza at Preston Center. Two miles to the east of Preston Center is Northpark Center. What TheGalleria is to the Houston area, Northpark Center is the same for Dallas. Here is what their marketing department has to say about the mall. Actually, one kind of hates calling it a mall. It is more like a mixture of luxury stores and a museum.

The last of these iconic shopping centers is Mockingbird Station. It isn't near as upscale as the other stores, but it is iconic as the ideal Transit Oriented Development.

Other shopping centers not mentioned in the area are Snider Plaza[/url]. It is a very popular shopping center for Dallas residents. And then there is the shops at Park Lane

If that isn't enough, then there is also the Upper Greenville area with lots of shops. Believe it or not, there is even more retail planned in this particular area of Central Expressway, but I have exhausted myself.
