If you could give me some advice I would so, so appreciate it because there are so many bad reviews on line about Lennar. We are considering building with them in Sachse but I am really scared about buying from an inferior builder. I read that they are fine now and yet I read to stay away from them. If I were to hire inspectors for the very important stages, would that make a difference? Would the home builder even be open to fixing things when I bring something up. There are just so many questions. If anyone has had experience with them good or bad can you please tell me? I am really agonizing over this decision. Thanks!!

I don't have a Lennar home but you have to go with your gut. Drive around the neighborhood and if you see some of the other neighbors out, just ask them how they're liking their Lennar home and get a true, unbiased opinion from them. I have read good and bad about them, so it just depends on their contractors. Just from reading different views, they say if the builder has a good superintendent, then chances are the home will be built pretty well. Again, just go with your gut. Good luck!

From my limited experience, I see that most builders outsource the building process to contract crews which mainly consist of workers working for minimum wage. The million dollar question is if the builder will stand behind the warranty to get issues fixed on time.

I suggest you meet with the existing home owners in the neighborhood and get their opinion before making a decision.

Regardless of the builder you choose, please do a couple of things:
1. Hire a inspector at the start of the process. The inspector can do phased inspections and so you have the opportunity for a professional to inspect to identify any issues.
2. Visit the homesite yourself every so often to see all the changes/upgrades you wanted are actually getting installed.
