I have a question about Northpark, the mall where I grew up shopping. Does anyone remember the name of the shoe store that was on the same side of the mall as Kip's Big Boy restaurant, just about two doors to the right of the restaurant if you were facing it? It would face out toward what is now La Madeleine.

Also, does anyone remember Bowley and Wilson's club in the 70s?

Thanks.

That takes me back. I thought Florsheim was on the opposite side, next to where La Madeleine's is now. You could contact EDR and order a Histrical Shopping Center Occupant Report for the mall. It will list occupants every 5 years. Too bad you don't need to know anything about Big Town Mall, I have got just about everything you would ever need about that history.

I have seen a lot of great Big Town stuff somewhere -- most don't know that was before North Park. And what was the name of that mall in SOC which was turned into Nolan Estes Educational Plaza?

It was the first enclosed, air-conditioned mall in the southwest.

Gosh, that was during my time I believe as it was still just "Sanger's" when I was a kid. If I'm thinking right???

I remember NorthPark very well as a child. Grew up going there.

Before 1964, Sanger Harris is listed as a tenant that year at Big Town.
