How is the commute from Cedar Hill to Irving? I currently live in the HEB area and majority of the people are just not friendly. I want to relocate and I think Cedar Hill is the best option. I know nothing about it other than the information on Niche. Your experiences and opinions are welcome.

Where in Irving? Las Colinas, or south Irving? That makes a big difference.

I can tell you that any commute from the south to the north is going to have a lot of traffic. Loop 12 is currently in the middle of a big reconstruction that will last several more years, and that will only make it worse.

I work in Irving, near DFW airport. I guess that is considered West Irving. TXDot shows anticipated reconstruction for Loop 12 to be complete Spring 24'.

Cedar Hill to D/FW airport is about 25ish minutes if your willing to pay the price and us 161. Traffic is normally light on the way there and only backs up around I-20 and on I-20 on the way back. You would be going the wrong way on 360. It's typically a parking lot heading north in the morning and same on the way south in the evening.

Maybe that’s for the portion that they are currently working on, but then it will move south and the intersection of Loop 12 and I30 will (finally) be redone. That will be another lengthy project. I’m keeping tabs on all of this through my job because the construction will impact one of my employer’s facilities.

Yes, if you’re willing to pay tolls and use 161/PGBT, that commute can be manageable. 360 and Loop 12, however, are quite a parking lot during rush hours.
