I live in an unincorporated area of Texas (out in the country) on 700 acres of land. I have no neighbors within 1/2 mile and have no local county requirements beyond TECQ requirements. I have an existing septic system which I need to replace. In my existing system the graywater comes out of the foundation on the other side of the house and is totally separate from the septic system. I would like to use the graywater and do a sub-irrigation system for the yard, and just replace the existing system with a completely new septic system. The installer is telling me I can't do this that it must go into the new septic system. Is this correct, and if so do I have any options other than running a sewer line about 80 feet around the house to the septic system?
