I would like to know the approximate cost to connect a gas line. The home has gas already but I need a line run for the range and dryer. The dryer area already has a line there but was disconnected years ago. This is an old home with many old gas lines jutting out in various places.

Also, I am wondering if one could tap into the existing lines instead of running new?

Thanks in advance!!

You should really consult a good plumber that can look at your home and give you a good estimate. It all depends on what your dealing with and hard to discuss without seeing what work is needed & the condition of the gas lines.

I will be much cheaper if your home is on a pier & beam foundation. They can then just run the new line under the house. If you have a slab foundation it will be fairly expensive if they have to bust up the concrete to run the line. I had a line run for a second fireplace and it cost me $300. Luckly they were able to run the line along the outside of my home instead of busting up the foundation.
