And no smart answers, I know it is March 21st LOL! But...

Even though it isn't technically winter yet, and keeping in mind I am a Florida transplant (just got here a month ago), I'm really looking forward to seeing the local trees in bloom and with leaves on them. (and the warm temps too)

When do trees start to bud, leaf out and flower in Dallas? Can I expect anything in late February or is that too early?

April.

Last year we did have an unseasonably warm stretch in February and all the tulips bloomed at a house near mine. They probably had $2,000 of tulip bulbs in their yard- just hundreds of them. Well, it froze a few weeks later and their gardener had to replant.

Three years ago it snowed on Easter in early April. It should remain reasonably cold (highs in 40's and 50's) through mid-Feb, with a couple of warm fronts (up to 60s/ low 70s) mixed in. Spring Break week (2nd or 3rd week in March) is notoriously cold, ever since I was in school.

Dallas really does have four seasons. No one ever seems to realize that and I can't ever figure out why.

March is when you start to see things come back to life. April is full blown spring.

Full blown allergy season too - don't know the OP's stance on that...

Many trees start to flower in early March - it's around my b-day, so I always notice nature's gift to me.

January is the worst month here. It's generally windy and historically, the coldest month. Feb starts to get better (warmer than Dec anyhow). March starts to get pretty nice with April being gorgeous (but if you have allergies, as has been stated above, it can be the worst time of year). I really like with the Red Buds put on their show.

I have a peach tree that flowers really early.. I would say February.

I begin getting the gardening urge in February too, although as others have said it's too early.

My birthday often falls on Labor Day, as we recognize my infant journey.

It arrives in mid or late April and lasts about a week.
