Here's a good current article about the tiny house movement in the area:

Tiny home dwellers have big hopes for Dayton | Dayton, OH News | www.daytondailynews.com

I like the idea a lot that is proposed for having a tiny house community somewhere in Dayton. There is certainly enough vacant space for one. Personally, I think a cool spot would be the former Parkside Homes site, especially if there are tight regulations on how clean these places must be. It would make a nice showcase coming into the city from the north on I-75.

What do you all think?

Personally, I think they are stupid, but whatever. I saw someone talking about why they have one the other day. They said a big selling point was being able to pay it off in 1 or 2 years as opposed to 30 years. That is great, but good luck selling it or making any money off of it. Also, it is perfectly fine if someone wants to live in one of these, but I wouldn't want to showcase this to anyone who doesn't live here. It is not a positive thing and doesn't look good, if you ask me. To me, it is the same as putting a trailer park for all to see. I doubt anyone would recommend that.

I laugh when I read comments like this one, from the Dayton Daily News:

"Tiny houses dwellers and those considering low-cost, downsized living, are hoping that one day Dayton might be home to a big, tight-knit, tiny house community.

This is funny to me because I don't understand this whole idea of being tight knit with your neighbors. Cordial and friendly I get, but tight knit? I don't really want to be that close to my neighbors if you ask me.

I would love to have one of those that are on wheels. Of course, I would have to add a tow package and tail lights to it. A lot cheaper than a camper, and more convenient.

And as far as getting tight with your neighbors, try it sometime. Mine moved years ago, and we are still tight.

Tiny houses and trailer parks can range from low value to very high value and have a variety of designs: http://media2.popsugar-assets.com/fi...iny-Houses.jpg

I'd love to see a neighborhood of those or these:
