I've been thinking about moving to CO for years/and am seriously looking at moving to Denver. Kicking myself for not following up on a few job calls last year there but found something locally first within this economy-but now READY to move out there. Looking at rentals and the cost of living if i were offered something around 40,000 a year is this sufficient for Denver cost of living?

Do you have a car payment? Credit card debt? Other bills you are bringing along? If not, or low ones, I would think you would be fine as long as you lived modestly. Where would you move from and is $40000 more or less than you're living on now?

I don't have a lot of other bills just student loan. Car is paid off. Would be moving from the midwest-just wondering realistically what the average rent is for a one bedroom apt. in a safe nice Denver neighborhood-including utilities.

Totally depends on the area and size of unit, but you'll roughly be looking at anywhere from $550-$700 for a small, decent apartment. Of course if you want to go up in price from there, the units will be much nicer, but that'll be a good starting point for you.
