I am a 23 year old New Yorker moving to Denver in the coming month or two having just obtained a job in Lakewood. Rather than list a million criteria that would require you guys to devise a formula in order to determine the best neighborhood for me, I will state the only two things that really matter to me:

- Proximity to college age/20-somethings (particularly hot girls, obviously)
- Walkability/Urban density

Looking for 1 br apartment for $1000/month maximum. Good location is a lot more important to me than living in a fancy apartment. Based on those criteria where would the best neighborhood be for a young guy like me? Appreciate all your insight, I'm definitely looking forward to beginning the next chapter of my life in Denver

Default Where is work?

Work address? Fed Center? or other?
That determines whether or not to recommend light rail or car.

Lower downtown, around the Coors Field area. It's by far the most dense area in Denver, lots of bars and restaurants, and where the majority of the post-college (20 to 30) crowd, both women and men, live.

Appreciate it. Also heard Capitol Hill is there a big drop-off in 20-something activity there or would that be similar? Thanks

I have always felt Ballpark is more frat guy and Capitol Hill is more alternative. Both younger crowds, but you have more older people mixed in to Cap Hill.

Yep. Ballpark (also include Riverfront Park) has all the 'College 2.0' high-density apartments, with weekly pool parties and lots of hooking up.

Capitol Hill is also full of young people but you have to venture out of your building to meet women.

Agreed. Capitol Hill is a little more professional - still lots of young people everywhere, it's just not the direct post-college crowd.
