Hi All,
It looks like our family will be relocating to Denver from Boston in the next few months. We have two children, ages 2 and 4, and my main concern is finding good schools for the kids, as we will likely rent for at least a year before deciding on exactly where we plan on putting down roots. I was hoping some of you could point us in the right direction. We are hoping to find a school that is focused on progressive/experiential learning. Most immediately we will be needing to find a warm and friendly preschool, but looking forward, we would love to find a terrific school that we could stay at for the long haul. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your suggestions!

~Elana

If I could choose to send my kids to private school, Stanley British and the Logan school would both be at the top of my list.

I'd also check out Alpine Valley: Alpine Valley School | We are a community that supports each child's drive to learn.

As for public schools: Jefferson County Open School: https://sites.google.com/a/jeffcoschools.us/jcos/
Jeffco school district is having some issues currently so definitely look into what is going on in the district in addition to just looking at the school if you choose to check it out.

Our daughter went to St Anne's and received an awesome education. Of course, she did not go to Harvard, only Columbia.

As an atheist, I can only say: Ask all the Jews who send their child there.

Very short answer: Not. And, my daughter attended when the last nun was still alive and active.

You must be so disappointed in her

To the OP, we had our twins in Montessori pre-school for a couple years and liked it. I'm not sure if that's the type of thing you're looking for, but by Kindergarten, our boys were quite advanced. There are Montessori pre-schools all over Denver.

Friends sent both kids here. Very pleased. Both sides of brain get worked there. Kids went on to great colleges and post grad degrees.

My daughter went to DWS for 3 years and we loved it. It's definitely not mainstream learning for your child. They are very anti-technology.
