Honestly, lets get rid of $5 max bets and bring in craps and roulette so we can actually have real casinos in Colorado

Yes on 50!

And well the money goes to community colleges

Sure, let's allow the casinos to dramatically increase their hours of operation and betting rates and change the tax distribution rate to funnel tax dollars into the casinos pockets -- and we will sell it to people who don't actually bother to read the amendments by telling them that more money will be spent funding community colleges.

Doesn't 78 percent of the money go to the community colleges? And 22% goes to Black Hawk / Central City?

Also, we are not voting to change the law. We are giving the gambling communities the opportunity to vote and change their OWN fate.

That is what I gleamed from actually reading the admentmant.

Honestly, I just don't understand the casino as it is now. You can drink yourself stupid from the free booze but you can't bet more than $5 at a time?

I have gambled in many places other than Vegas and the norm is you can bet what you want but you have to pay for the drinks.

Couple that with the banning of smoking at the casinos they have lost major revenue.

What is the point of even having them?

Lets make them a real casino with higher limits and more table games. And actually justify having gambling in Colorado

Let's see, the Attorney General of Colorado is against it, same for Hickenlooper, The Denver Post ,The Durango Herald,The Steamboat Pilot, The Fort Collins Coloradoan and many I don't recall off the top of my head.

It is a poorly written deceptive amendment that will do more harm than good.

I'd agree. I go to places like Vegas and have played slots here and there, but just haven't felt comfortable stepping up and playing at the table (craps, Hold em', Omaha, Let it Ride, Black Jack, Roulette) because those dealers are just too fast for me. If I did decide to play, I'd want a table with a $5.00 or less minimum anyway. If some foo wants to throw their money away even faster, that's fine with me. As far as taking away the smoking, I'd agree that's gonna put the hurt on the casinos right there; but not as bad as when gas prices went to 4+.

Poorly written amendment or not, as long as they keep the casinos limited to those places (what about the Ignacio area?), we'll be fine. They ain't gettin' more of my money nohow.

You really can't make any gains in blackjack unless you escalate your bets when you are doing well.

You should try practicing on a Blackjack simulator. You shouldn't be sitting down at a table if you can't keep up with the action and don't at least have the basic strategy memorized.

$5 or $20 min bet the action moves at the same pace.

Of course there would be $5 tables. On weekdays and days. Weekends, the mins normally do go up.

It is what it is.

I agree. I only gamble maybe once or twice a year, and never spend more than I can afford to lose....but it is just not as much fun at Central City/Black Hawk when you can't get going on blackjack! I'd rather pay for my drinks and be able to bet more/play other games like roulette

Even though I'm the vegas man, and I have no moral problem with gambling (even though I don't gamble myself) I voted against that one. I feel that the current gaming in Colorado is fine the way it is, where it's just a fun little diversion. Black Hawk and Central City are already overbuilt as it is. To increase up to $100 bets would change it drastically into serious gaming. That's what Las Vegas is for.

Yeah, when I gamble with my money I would rather be sober.
