So my wife and i would like to see a film that is playing at many of the AMC chain cinema locations among others, but we would prefer to watch it without the Kid Rock/Us Army ad that has been running in the pre-show at this larger chains. If anyone is aware of a cinema that is not doing this that would be very helpful.thank you.

Smile Getting Out

That is a sweet link! I think that the Mayan is my favorite. The Boulder Theater also plays movies once in a while and in the summer you should check out the Boulder Outdoor Cinema. They show indie and older movies on the back of the Boulder Contemporary Art Museum building. My favorite memory is dressing up in a robe and slippers for a showing of The Big Labowski.

Denver and Boulder also host a slew of Independent Film Festivals. The local paper Westword always has info about these types of things.

Great list, thanks for posting that DenverAztec!

I've been to all except for the Boulder and the Lyric in Ft. Collins. I had no idea about Ft. Collins.

Here's one more that's sort of Indie, but not totally. It's the Cinebarre in Thornton. They have food (and not crappy bar food but really good food, gourmet pizzas, burgers, etc.) and beer/wine. Their popcorn is old school and served in a gigantic stainless steel bowl.

They usually have mainstream stuff, and lately their list has s*cked, but sometimes they have good indies. Also, bonus, no stupid car commercials during previews. And get there early, they play these really weird films from the past. Halloween night they were playing some super cheesy B horror movies. I love this place. A huge plus for Thornton.
