I'm looking for a local window company and/or contractor who can "re-set" 11 large plate glass windows (and replace a broken one). I'm not sure whether I'd have better luck with a builder or a window place. Each window averages around 4' x 7' and they are in wood frames. It's sort of complicated but I think the glass will have to be removed, the bottom of the frame re-done and then glass re-installed. Thanks for any recommendations.

I recommend Window Doctors of Colorado. I have used them to install windows and sliding doors. Very professional and quick. Reasonable prices. https://www.windowdoctorofcolorado.com/

This isn't related to the OP's window issue, but I want to express my dissatisfaction with vinyl Jeld Wen brand replacement double-pane windows.

My late brother replaced all of his old aluminum- framed windows with this window brand, bought through Home Depot in 2008. Since his passing a few months ago, it was my job to thoroughly clean the windows, tracks and re-install them. I would say about 50% of the windows show evidence of vacuum seal failure. You can tell they've failed because there will either be come slight condensation on the inner glass or discoloration in the glass once you get the panes perfectly clean.

I informed Home Depot of this, but they dismissed any responsibility and told me to contact Jeld Wen. I have yet to do this. Buyer beware. Very disappointed.
