Thanks, and it is an adventure. I'm grateful that I have to opportunity to move to Des Moines, a fine upstanding Midwestern community, vs. some third world mud hole where I'd be confined to a base because the locals hate women, and that happened to a friend of mine in her last tour of duty.

It would be a lot harder for me to retain a positive outlook under those circumstances.

In any case, it won't be long, now. I'm in the final stages of selling my Ohio home. I might be celebrating Labor Day eating Iowa sweet corn. (;

I'm here! I got to have some yummy corn. (:

Friends are joking that I brought this heat with me from Ohio. We had about 43 days of 90+ temps last summer. Icky. Fortunately, I only have to unload a car and two relo cubes, which we can probably finish in the early morning, but not today. Wow! 103 expected on Tuesday ?!?!? I had all of my fall clothes in the suitcase and had to dig my summer clothes out of the wardrobe bags. Did I make a wrong turn and move to FL by accident?

I am in heaven this week. The nice temps are expected to continue the next 10 days at least. YAY!

Fall clothes in August? NOT LIKELY! It is usually hot this time of year. There is still a month of summer (almost) afterall! We can have a 90 degree day or two well into Sept.

I don't break out fall clothes till October if I can help it. Last summer here was much better, many many days of 100+.

I'll think of you enjoying these temps, Elletea. As for me, I'm trying to finish my errands so I can spend the afternoon in the a/c. I got all of the computer media and liquids out of my car in advance of the high temps. I hope the lawn mower is okay (I drained the gas). It has to stay in my car until I can get into my house.

I'm stuck inside at work, but plan to eat lunch outside.

Someone asked me if it was getting hot out (I had to drop something in a mailbox outdoors) and then said "wait, what am I asking you for?" I don't consider 90 hot; it's nice and WARM!

By the way...welcome!

Thanks! Everything is going very well so, even with the heat. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. I even told one of my friends that "ElleTea" one of the posters on CityData really likes this heat!

You are our inspiration.

I am having back issues this week and of course the AC went out in my car. BUT...I have heated seats that feel wonderful on my sore back. SO, yesterday, when it was 98 or 99, I drove home with the windows down and the seat heaters on HAHA

I am pretty sure I was the only person using the seat heaters in my car here yesterday.

I plan to have lunch outside again! My dogs (chihuahuas) love the heat too. They were basking in the sun, laying sprawled on thehot concrete last night
