Why do you suppose BMW's plant is in South Carolina instead of Michigan?
Toyota in Kentucky instead of Michigan?
VW & Nissan in Tennessee?
Honda in Ohio?
Hyundai in Alabama?
KIA in Georgia?
Mercedes Benz in Alabama?
Subaru in Indiana?

Because those states have far less trolls? Just a wild hair guess.

That and those states BOUGHT the land, BUILT the factory, and gave 20-30 Year tax abatements? This is probably what really happened.

Don't forget the Toyota plant the car company WALKED away from in Mississippi--and why shouldn't they have walked--it was FREE to them and left the state with a HUGE billion dollar bill.

no one has ever been able to accurately count the number of red-neck trolls.

Why do you suppose the quality of life in Michigan is still higher than most of those states?

Why do you suppose that all of those factories were built in places other than Maryland? Or Wyoming? Or Colorado? Is there something "wrong" with every state that doesn't get every single new auto plant within its borders? Do you really expect every auto plant to be built in the same state? Do we really even want that?

Speaking of questions, why has the greatest amount of manufacturing job growth occurred in Michigan in recent years? Why not Indiana, or Alabama, or Georgia, or Alabama, or Ohio, or Tennessee, or Kentucky?

Not sure why the quality of life in Detroit is so high. Oh wait.

As for Maryland, business is leaving this Utopia in record numbers. Maybe it's because we have a tax for every letter in the alphabet.

As for manufacturing job growth, how's Detroit doing in that regard?
