I have a co-worker who was riding in a car when they noticed "kids" (late teens/early 20s) throwing rocks over an overpass into traffic below.

My co-worker took pictures of the kids, they followed them while calling the police. The police said not to follow them, that they would not look for them and weren't interested in the photos.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a police-hater. I AM one of those people, though, who wonders who needs to get hurt or killed before action is taken.

Next time just say "You think one of the kids throwing rocks off an overpass was shot and that'll get them there quick to clear the scene." You're thinking can always be corrected =)

If they've stopped throwing rocks by the time you've called the police, there's not much they can arrest them for. That's like calling on someone who made a right turn on red hours after the fact.

Sure, if those kids did cause an accident, then the police would probably accept your information, but since they stopped and apparently went off to do something else, then they were no longer an issue.

Wait, you guys didn't throw rocks off the overpass when you were young? LOL. Dearborn and Detroit police have better things to worry about. If your car gets damaged, call it in, but otherwise my advice is to let it be.

Were the kids "gentle giants"?
