It is ridiculous, but I also think it's ridiculous that people can't sit through a 2 hour movie without eating. I understand that theaters rely heavily on the concession profits because they don't make much on ticket sales, but I never buy any of the junk they sell. There is a huge opportunity to provide decent choices beyond candy and popcorn.
The last several movies we've gone to see were at dinner-type theaters. We have ordered food, but it was mediocre, at best, and for the $50. spent, we decided we were better off seeing the movie, and eating elsewhere.
No I have not. I have smuggled my own unhealthy snacks into movies though. Despite that I have no problems with a private business regulating what food can and cannot be brought into the theater.
