There is a strong correlation between having a lot of debt and being fat. If you're overweight, try paying off all your bills first. I mean ALL of your bills. Then lose the weight and maintain the fiscal responsability and watch your size shrink and bank account grow. Why people don't get this I'll never know.
Personally, I took the advice in the book Live right 4 your type. The author states that O blood types in particular don't do well with lots of debt.
I wrote this first then googled it. I got a lot of hits such as...
Ridiculous. Ignorance and/or lazyness leads to fat. Some of the poorest most struggling people Ive met in my life are some of the fittest, rippest, and super athletic people I have ever met in my life. Go to some of the worst and tough neighborhoods and you'll see a LOT of black dudes who are RIPPED!!! Im talking low bodyfat and just ridiculous muscles.
So debt does NOT lead to fat. Being lazy and being ignorant to health/nutrition leads to fat

Overeating causes fat. Blood type has nothing to do with whether you're good or bad with your money. Sounds like yet another book giving excuses for why you shouldn't take responsibility for your own actions. Blame it on your blood type!
Depends on an individuals reaction to stress. Debt itself can be stressful so if someone is more inclined to eat more or less because of it, just like any other significant life change/stressor.
I think it is a factor of things. What is the cheapest thing to eat? Potatoes. That does lead to weight gain, but then again, so does fast food. Fast food isn't cheap. Eating at home is.
Debt leads to closer families, and healthy eating. People are eating out less with the recession.
Potatoes themselves are actually quite nutritionally dense and not a fattening food--it's the oil/butter/sour cream/bacon bits/cheese and other high fat items you pile on top that are fattening.
