Last year I went from 205 to 163 in 3 months. LOTS of cardio and only eating around 500 calaries a day with no carbs after 6 p.m. One cheat day a week (Saturday). I was miserable the entire time.

Reason: I was working out of the country on an assignment for my company and wanted to surprise my wife when I returned.

I've never been obese but when seriously into powerlifting in my 30s, did bulk up to 270, not obese for my structure but definitely overweight for it. Lost 60 lbs. in 4 1/2 months on a really strict diet, no lifting during that time and minimal aerobic work.

But in the short term, age 24 ..... Weight was a solid 200. Stopped eating on a Thursday PM and then went running around in the woods playing soldier boy with the National Guard Fri. PM thru Sunday PM. Consumed nothing but H2O.

Sun. evening 190 lbs. Obviously mostly a water loss. I had mom deep fry 5 lbs. of scallops -- Lord, sea scallops were delicious in those days -- and I ate all of them, to the point of nausea. Couldn't finish the accompanying potato salad. Next morning's wgt. 196.

So, 10 lbs. in three days was my record, albeit a dubious one as it was mostly H2O loss. Actual wgt. loss was 4 lbs. in 3 days I guess.

I went on a diet for the first time in my life 2 months ago, lost 20 pounds doing exercise, changing what I eat and eating much less. I think I was able to do because I use to be very fit and was never way overweight.

That's very impressive but sounds dangerous. I was thinking me cutting my calories in half with added exercise was dangerous. Is there any point when u went.... "wow this may be dangerous, I should relax my diet"?

22 lbs in 1 week.

I was in the hospital--could eat or drink nothing.
A few days later, they started IV feeding and weight loss slowed, but I still got out of there 26 lbs lighter than I went in.

About 30 lbs in about 2 months while in hospital, drugs caused loss of appetite. I'm working to keep the weight off. Let myself eat more while starting retirement and playing bridge and enjoying the snacks at bridge games.

I have not brought breads in my house for about 10 yrs, use romaine lettuce leaves for sandwich wraps. To me breads are like sponges working in the stomach, blowing up.
