Any runners gain or lose weight so quickly as well?
I dont think of myself as a "runner", since I only do 5k - 10k per day, but I have been between 175 lbs - 178 lbs pretty consistently for the past 10+ years. I drink a LOT of beer, but I also do two-a-days (cardio in the morning, workout in the afternoon/evening) and eat the occasional 2 Tommys/In-n-Out burgers w/fries.
I am pretty much stuck at about 176 lbs no matter what I do.
Historically I can manipulate my weigh-ins by altering time of day and which weekday I decide to check myself.
If I weigh myself Saturday morning post run (I do anywhere from four to eight miles) I'm at my lowest possible weight (no food intake and only about a quart of water consumed). If I weigh myself on Monday after my workout I'm usually 10-12 pounds heavier (I've already had two meals and around a gallon of water).
Eventually along the way I elected to go with the Saturday morning weigh-ins only as a means to monitor myself. It's pretty much guaranteed to be the lowest number I'll see, it's at the same time, same day for purposes of consistency, and it's easy to remember to do.
Hi, so as a runner I weigh myself usually every month or two month's due to weight fluctuations.
So last month 185 last week 171. Being sick haven't ran in 3 days so decided to weigh myself for fun weigh 191.
Any runners gain or lose weight so quickly as well?
I am not a runner and this may not be considered rapid weight loss but I am down to 133 lbs from 173 lbs 18 months ago. I honestly haven't thought much about my weight loss because I see the ads on TV for various weight loss products all hyping people having lost from 30-50 lbs and I am inline with that. The other day while discussing my weight loss with a friend I realized I've lost 23% of my former body weight and when thinking of it all as a percentage it seems significant.
I am wondering where the extreme part is. The title is Extreme Weight Loss and Gain and the OP is talking about a few pounds.
^^^ I fixed that with post #7.
