It's probably just me, but my dogs have always responded to a consonant at the beginning of their name more so than a vowel. Again, probably just me and my dogs and my dogs already come (dumped) to us with a name, usually.
But you asked, so Dora, for the reasons listed; absolutely adorable!
And when your girl begins to get curious about her surroundings and comes out of the laundry room with your clean socks in her mouth, you can call her Dora the Explorer!
