Go check out the barn hunt rules posted online at the Barn hunt of America association, they do address the issue of dogs that might be aggressive with other dogs, there are guidelines but they are reasonable. The dogs actually won't get to kill a rat, the rats are safe in aerated tubes but the dogs love it!

So I have a English Setter mix. We have a lot of mice and rats in our backyard and my dog is obsessed. We took out a box from my shed that was an old rat nest and she wouldnt leave it alone till we opened the box. My now ex boyfriend mentioned to me something about his dad doing barn hunts with his dog. He also made a comment about how he doesn't think my dog can do it. I was wondering how to sort of get started with this. Any information or help at all will be awesome!
