UPDATE: Visit with Vet went as follows. We already know about her Arthritis given I have posted that history. Her meds help her fine with that but I just saw her as declining with something very real going on causing her not to be herself out of nowhere.

After some blood work it was determined that she has Cushing's Disease. That explains the drastic overall change in her. I take her back to the Vet on Monday. He said some of the meds are harsh on dogs but there are some options and we'll go over them. He added a supplement to her diet which she has already started to take. She has been pretty good the last 48 hours. She was given an IV which seemed to help her although she is great about drinking water but I do notice she's doing a bit better. By no means is she out of the woods but at least she has turned a positive corner. Cushing's is responsible for her feeling so cruddy and being so lethargic here lately.

I will have more info on Monday but he felt she was doing better just in the last 48 hours and that she's not ready to go anywhere :-) I'm so thankful! Thanks for all the input. I'll keep you posted. If anyone has experience with this Cushing's and dogs please let me know. I know what it's like for humans and not sure the drugs/treatment are one in the same. Doing some reading tonight.

Ahhhh! I'm so relieved that you have some answers! That's always good.

I know nothing about Cushing's disease but I know that some other posters on this forum do and will give you all sorts of information.

I'm glad that you and your sweet girl are in a happier mood today.

What great news! Cushings can be pretty manageable and lots of older dogs come down with it.

I hope the treatment is successful!
