Yes, and let's start addressing the various issues both familial and social that allow someone to get to the point where abusing/torturing an animal is an option. We need to identify this sort of personality and behavior early in order to get these children help. And yes, it starts with the children because by the time a teen or adult is expressing these behaviors it is too late to rehabilitate. IMHO.

How can people be SO sick to helpless animals? I just makes my heart hurt to read such things. Some Homo sapiens like this one shouldn't have been born.
Torture, neglect, abandonment and being the cause of cruel deaths of animals should be right up there with wife and children abusers in EVERY court.
The singular (in my opinion) upside to this story is that Bubba(s) is(are) also in the joint. Unfortunately, 6 months is not long enough.
