I marked that as a You Tube favorite a couple years ago. I still get misty eyed when I watch it.
I've had dogs all my life which is getting to be quite awhile and it reminds me of every loss through the years. I actualy had a dog named Beau that passed on about 15 yrs ago. He was a Siberian Husky. Beautiful dog and my pal. I still miss him.
But I always find another one to give a good life and be best pals with. It always hurts to lose them. I can't see myself without a good dog. Just wouldn't seem natural not to have a dog. They have always been a part of my life and each one was special.
The Lab/mix I have now may be the best one yet. I always get pups and keep them untill it is their time to go to the Rainbow Bridge. It never gets easier to lose them.
I've said many times never again. But I always end up with another loyal friend. Got to have my dogs.

Your story sounds similar to mine. I can't imagine not having a dog and it is so hard when it is their time to go. I've said in the past that I can't go through it again but I've only lasted a few months without one. Raising them from a pup and the training was a bit harder for me this time since I'm not a spring chicken any more. Kerby just turned five and hopefully he will enjoy a long happy life like the rest of my dogs have.
We have a dog named Beau right now, and I hope it is a good long while before I see that "stare" or hear that "sigh."
