Bananas, peppers and carrots!!! Lately they've been munching on apples, too.

Me again.

My dog loves these: Sam's Yams Sweet Potato Dog Chews

Also, something I just learned: dogs can't get the full nutritional value from veggies because of their teeth. Not being herbivores, their jaws don't move side to side, only up and down, so they can't properly chew the veggies.

So I recommend mashing any veggies you want to give your pup.

same here. except this kibble i got for her. i tried a small bag and she LOVED it, but when i got a giant bag she turned her nose up to it. now i'm mixing it half and half with another kind and putting it in her buster cube (she'll eat it from there!) to get rid of it. honestly the kibble does seem a bit different from the small bag, even though it's the exact same kind.

but she will eat any veggie i drop on the floor; i have to be careful never to drop any of the ones that are bad for dogs.

I had an apple with some cheddar cheese and crackers two nights ago and gave the puppies some tiny pieces of red delicious apple with the skin off of course. The loooooooooooooooved it!!! Today I'm going to try it as a snack in the afternoon for them, right after they have their lunch.

I'm going to try bananas later this week too. They do like the mini carrots for snacks. My other dogs never took to carrots, but they like them just fine!

one of my cats really loves bananas! also frozen corn, broccoli, and mushrooms. and every once in a while i'll find little cat teeth marks in my tomatoes that appear overnight. sometimes the tomato is mangled on the floor, sometimes it's just been bitten a little.

a dog eating fruits & veggies doesn't seem that weird to me (they are omnivores after all), but a cat doing it is just bizarre.

My pup likes to eat blueberries and small green peas (sans pod!). I used to give him walnuts and pecans, which he loved, until I learned how bad they were for dogs. I've never actually tried giving him bananas, but after reading these past few posts, I think I'll give that a try, too.

I didn't know that walnuts and pecans are bad. I knew about Macadamia nuts, but I sometimes give mine a few almonds or filberts, and they love them. Are they dangerous??
