I'm not happy about this, I love my t-mobile plan, we still have the fave-5 plan since we have been subscribers for a while. We actually left AT&T to go to t-mobile. sigh

These were the only 2 major carriers with GSM phones. Both unlocked your phone for free after a few months. Unlocked GSM phones are very cheap to use when you are in a another country (most countries have GSM) and buy a local SIM card. You always got the best handset deal when you switched between these 2 GSM carriers at the end of 2 years - which will no longer be possible.

I have T Mobile without a contract, meaning that I buy minutes as I need them. I like it that way. I also like having the option of using my phone when I travel--just get a SIM card for it when you get there.
So--do you think we'll still be allowed to buy minutes?
And will we still be able to use our SIM card when we travel out of the country? (I used to have AT & T once but got rid of it.)
I hope this deal will at least mean fewer dropped calls at the very least.
