Is this the right place for a question like this? I know people here really know their stuff, so I hope so!

Switched to a new accountant and keep having doubts about them.

I have a 1 man business and have to make a EFTPS payment of moneies withheld. Usually that's Jan 15. But this year that's a sunday. So it would be Jan 16th. BUt that's MLK day. So is it the 17th?

The IRS has a page

https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small...-tax-due-dates

saying:

Deposit FUTA tax by the last day of the first month that follows the end of the quarter. If the due date for making your deposit falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, you may make your deposit on the next business day.

The accountant is saying:

Your 941 deposit is due on the 15th via EFT with a settlement date of 1/16/17.

I'd like to find a page that specifically says what the day it's due is. Is MLK day a national holiday for the IRS?

THANKS!

Awww! Never mind. I finally found it:

https://www.tax.gov/calendar/

and now the frustration that I went from a small accounting firm to a much bigger, more expensive firm... and I have to pull things out of them / double check them. Maybe they don't like small businesses? Being a bigger firm, they like working with / are geared for bigger clients?

Because of the holiday 1/17/17 is the due date.

You can pull up the 1040 ES from the IRS site and inspect the dates on the 4 quarterly vouchers.
