I get this email from a large online auction site with the "Top 3 Trending Items".

Not interesting in buying anything, but I was curious and I trust the site, so I clicked.

2000 USPS Forever Stamps - 2015 Vintage Rose Stamps (100 Sheets of 20) (brick) (with free shipping)

How does that work? Who sells new postage stamps in quantity for almost 20% off?

Since he possibly /probably only paid $660 for all of them= about 20% return before holding costs and shipping would be the other way to look at it. Sale to you== getting back his "investment" to him.

Where would he get 2000 Forever stamps for $660? These stamps were issued in 2015.

Perhaps the seller is one of these outfits that buys unused stamps, at a discount, that needs to move some inventory and raise some cash ?

This is why I love city data. I would never have thought to buy stamps in bulk. But sure enough there they are on ebay. Bought 1000 of them for $372. I''ll keep a few hundred and not have to worry about making a post office stop for years. Then I'll sell the extras at a bit of a profit.

Wow, now I understand how the USPS can stay in business, with nobody using their service. People are stockpiling their stamps, and never using them. I have about $10 worth of Forever Stamps, that I bought 10 years ago, that will last me the rest of my life, no matter how old I get.

I think you are making a really bad investment. The price of stamps has been stable for a few years now, even dropping at some points.

The PO wants to raise rates. I've heard going to $0.50 per stamp.

Every year my wife buys quite a bit of stamps for sending on birthday cards, Christmas cards, etc. I've thought about buying a larger bulk size at discount.

I haven't made a post office stop for years either, and I sure as hell didn't buy hundreds of stamps.
