You would assume that getting kicked out of a house, whether as a renter or as a homeowner, in the midst of a global pandemic would be incredibly dangerous, and a new study confirms it. Researchers led by Kathryn Leifheit of UCLA published a paper Monday asserting that evictions between the beginning of the pandemic and the CDC’s national eviction moratorium in September led to 433,700 excess COVID-19 cases and 10,700 additional deaths.
Human lives matter more than profits. Period. Maybe renters need to get armed to protect themselves from eviction. At this point it's a choice between dying slowly and painfully of COVID or a gun battle. What do they have left to lose?

Forget sugar coating this anymore. We're about to see a huge wave of additional deaths when the eviction moratorium ends. Screw capitalism, people gotta live and not die. Survival uber alles.

So if the landlords use the money from their rental properties to afford their home and food, do they get to join the mob...or?

No, it’s actually a legitimate question. You just don’t understand economics and thus you can’t answer it. You know, because we have property rights in this country, which turns out to be one of the most important concepts.

I assumed the person suggesting people resort to gun battles was trolling.

It is plainly clear people on the left do not understand history not economics nor respect property rights, individual freedoms, and laws in general. Hence why the big cities under their control are becoming increasingly toxic to the productive members of society.

The Vampire Class (Landlords who are sucking blood from the hard working Americans) will soon find out what people are willing to do to protect their family and their survival. The Vampire Class in America is about to get their reality check soon. Civil War is very likely in our near future. In the mean time you can continue to cheer for ZIRP and the markets being at the all time high while more and more hard working Americans are falling into a poverty and despair.

2021 will be a very interesting year.

It is good to see the eviction ban ending.

We understand it perfectly well. However, rights are not always unlimited or absolute. In a war the government can require you to fight. In a pandemic they can require you to temporarily suspend certain activities to limit loss of life. You can't expect to be able to do anything you want when the country is dealing with six figure death tolls.

You can't expect a multi year eviction ban. If people cannot pay rent, they need to seek other options. A multi month moratorium was ultra generous.

Not multi-year, just until the virus is under control. Evictions are literally killing people by the thousands right now.
