I drive my vehicles into the ground and currently have a 94 Explorer that I really think might be on its last leg. Usually I pay cash, but I'm thinking this sale could work for me--smaller vehicle and 0%??!! Who'd have thunk it?

Ford, GMC, and Chrysler could offer their vehicles for free right now and people still won't touch their crap.
I get so sick of the buy American crap when it comes to autos. I believe in this with all other industries. However, American autos have become more foreign then Toyota and Honda which now employe more American workers then GMC and manufacture more parts here then GMC too. GMC, Ford, Chysler are about to become dinasors. Watch and learn.........
Did I read that right, in order to get 0% you have to forgo all other incentives meaning you pay full price to get it?
No, you just pass on the manufacturers rebate but you can still negotiate a price. I once negotiated invoice and still took 0% so it can be a good deal if the vehicle is what you want.
That depnds on how much you plan on financing. Last car I bought it was cheaper to take the rebate as the amount even at 4.25% was cheaper than taking the1.9% financing.The rebate was only 1000 dollars but I would only have saved 800 dollars taking the financing offer.

GM and Ford are basically just trying to keep plants rolling. They are not going to make any profit for a long time. They are almost giving vehicles away at this point just to keep the plants rolling because idle plants are more expensive for them (auto workers get 90% of their pay and all benefits while on lay off).
I bought a GM Vehicle (Saturn Vue) in the summer of '06 when the economy was still relatively strong and I got a 0% loan for 72 months. Is this that big of news?
Right now a lot of the car makers are really backed up with inventory on everything but the economical MPH cars and are willing to do just about anything to move those cars.
Until American car companies start making reliable, fuel efficient cars and stop putting out cr*p, they can expect more of the same. No gimmicks needed. Start making real cars and they'll sell. It's no duh!
