The Associated Press: Chrysler to cut 25 percent of salaried work force

About 5,000 workers are likely to lose their jobs, although the company would not say how many contract workers it has.

The employees whose jobs are being eliminated will leave the company payroll Dec. 31. (This is not from the article..its from a blog.. can't link to blogs..oh well.)

The media will change its focus and start reporting on how many people in the unemployment line after the election voted for Obama if he wins and further burdens struggling US businesses.

But the unemployment figures the government puts out doesn't seem to reflect all these layoffs. I guess almost everyone is able to find a new job immediately according to the government.

I beleive CBS showed a mapo of wehere in the nation the economy is still growing. Chrysler cutting jobs will not mean that peole in that area can immediately get another. White collar workers are mopre mobil than blue collar worker and use to moving but they will have more competition for the same jobs still. Those in the blue collar jobs have not really seen a need to move since the 70's recession.A far as the presidentail winner ;the worse the ecoonmy the less chance he will win a second term. He will proably either have to borrow more or cut spending with the GDP goign down. Not a heck of alot he can do about ti really.

Thanks for your concerns.

Have months of work fully funded and backlogged ahead.

Just hoping I have it cleared up by May/June 2009 so we can go goof off a little in the Pacific Northwest and Canada this coming Summer.

btw, it is not so much defensive -- just calling bs what it is -- bs.
