People that commit suicide are often mentally ill. You will never understand what he did what he did. Maybe he had voices in his head.... It is very very sad when anyone is so despondent that this happens. I feel bad for his family.

I think he knew what was coming down the pike. I feel for his family and am worried about the future.

Secession perhaps?
Maybe America is just to large to be governed as a single unit.
If this is the case I am moving south. After all there is no place for a republican tea party supporter in the North. I am part of the problem because I am the redneck racist the democrats are saying is leading the nation to ruin.

And depression over money no less. The last murder/suicide where the guy shot his family and himself had to do with him being in over $450K debt and going under.

I guess when you live that high off the hog the thought of bankruptcy and or lower living standards is not an option. Boggles the mind though how money can have so much of a control over people.
I know! I for one enjoy money, including studying it, but the more you study it, the more you realize how funny it is. People place their entire faith in it, making these clips of paper valuable to the point they get emotional over it. I remember the day I realized "this is just a piece of paper... if people didn't have so much faith in it, it would be worthless because I can't eat it, can't really play with it, can't build anything with it (except those metallic disks)..." The real power is the knowledge to make the stuff we buy, which if you think about it, when people give you the money they have faith in, they have faith in your abilities. Thus, you're transferring faith and trust.

Sorry, existentialist moment.

I do think we will continue to see a rally in the stock market till sometime in June but after look out.

Who, what and *why* do they want to kill the dollar?

Forgive my ignorance here, I guess I'm a nationalist or something, but why don't we want a strong dollar?

I guess one could argue that we want the dollar to be weak when foriegners buy from us, so that more come back to the U.S. but when we buy from them we want the dollar to be strong. (Essentially thinking of dollars like gold.)

However, since one can't engineer it so the dollar is weak when selling, but strong when buying, why wouldn't a middle ground be effective?

Not necessarily. Granted, I don't know about this case. But, I could see where someone, upon deciding the life is pointless, could decide to take their life and not be ill.
