I work in the education field and help people move on to get their college degrees, but many can't get started because they don't have a high school diploma or equivalent. Hearing these stories helps me to perhaps help these people overcome their challenges and move forward toward a better future. That's why.

I don't think you'll find many people in this day and age, on the Education forum of City-Data, who fit this profile.

Both of my grandmothers and one of my grandfathers didn't finish high school. But I'm talking about people born in the 1890's and 1900's.

I suspect maybe there are not many people visiting this website who don't have a high school diploma or equivalent, but on the other hand, there are more than a few threads regarding the GED in the Education forum of City-Data. A couple times in those, I have even been thanked for some help.

In any case, for those with the interest, like me, for whatever reason...

Here's more proof on why a degree is usually worth it.

How can I get my high school diploma or GED for free online? With no hidden fees? I have searched and searched and have had no luck. My childhood wasn't the best so therefore school was depressing beyond words. I am now 28yrs old and wish to accomplish this goal and onto college. Please help with any information. I don't want to be on disability my whole life. I wish to become independent and take my life back. I can't afford to pay to get my diploma or GED. Thanks in advance.

I would like to earn my high school diploma or GED free online with no hidden fees. I am on disability which I can not afford to pay for a high school diploma or GED. I do have internet access and could do it from home. I want to be independent and not having the government take care of me my whole life. Any information would help. Thanks in advance
