Surprisingly, no. A few students at my high school have died who were there at the same time as I was, but I didn't actually know any of them - they were always people my friends had maybe had a class with or something, although I knew the brother of a girl who killed herself a few years ago. Then again, my high school was pretty big, over 3,000 students.
If it counts as shocking news, though, one of the English teachers at my school got busted for sexual relations with a student last year. It was all over the news - it was weird; he would've been the last one I would've guessed.
HS graduation was 20 years ago last summer, so it would stand to reason a few may have passed over. A couple of girls died within past 5 years, so still young as a person in mid 30's. One was kinda "expected" as was born with serious heart issues, so full life expectancy was questionable for her, but the other was pretty sudden. just dropped dead in her bedroom.
A good friend from high school died recently. She wasn't only a friend from high school, but all through the years. She'd moved to another state and we talked on the phone once a month. She was shopping and fell. Hit her head and apparently there was no harm, but unbeknownst to her there was. That night, at home, she died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
