Hi,

I am curious to know what kind of people have only elemental/high school education in the US. This thread is not intended to be racist or discriminatory. I am not from US but interested to know about the american society.

Thanks!

Not necessarily. In Europe at least you can find people financially supported that leave school soon.

The kind that outnumber college graduates by 2 to 1.

You have people who learned a thing or two in order to get by. There is no such thing as lack of education in the United States. More like discrimination based on employment preferences. What is funny is how you will always find a certain kind of person inside of a marketplace even if they do not want be inside that area of employment.

I'm talking in more generalities. Poor people by average are less educated.

I was raised in an upper middle class family with well-educated parents (mom is PhD in BioChem, dad is ret usaf col & mba).

But I was a trouble-maker & as compulsory education laws typically only go to the age of 16; I was expelled on my 16th birthday with a 9th grade education.

I did obtain my GED & used it to start college at age 18, as a teen-age mother. Transferred to a university a year later & graduated at age 22.

Statistically speaking; the odds of this occuring were only 0.02% at that time (late 1980's).

Students in k-12 who receive free lunch status based on household income have a greater chance of non-graduation than their peers. The only factor known to influence educational success beyond poverty is the educational attainment of the mother.

The kind that stopped going to school after high school. However, one must remember "low educated," does not mean low intelligence.

Generally... the kind of people who come from homes that don't value education.
