Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a Chinese community/ social group in the El Paso area. My grandmother recently moved in with us from Chinatown in New York and has no friends with whom to socialize with in Chinese. We think it would be good for her to meet some new people with her common interests. Thanks.

El Paso's Chinese population is a lot smaller then it was a hundred years ago. Resources for your grandmother might be hard to come by. If she is religious (Christian) there is a Chinese Baptist Church on Grant Avenue. Some retirees find a social circle in their church group, so maybe this will help (if the religion is the right fit). The phone number is 532-7153.

eplifestyle is right. There are no a lot of Chinese here in el paso. If you want to find a " group", most probably Chinese Baptist church is the best choice.
